DAY ZERO PROJECT

The Day Zero Project is a list of 101 things you hope to achieve in 1001 days (2 and a half years approx). There is a website to keep a list but it is currently down so for the New Year I have decided to keep my own list of things I hope to achieve. These are a mixture of sensible and fun things to do. I’ve done this in the past and found having the goals noted down helped me to achieve them:

July 2011 Update - I've now realised there is lots more to do and stuff that isn't really important. I'm now keeping my list on the Day Zero website.

FINANCIAL GOALS

 1. Reduce credit card debt (currently have 4 cards) – pay off 1st card with high interest

2. Pay off 2nd card

3. Pay off 3rd zero interest card before the deal runs out

4. Pay off 4th card – currently a fixed low interest deal

5. Pay off the interest free loan used to buy the bed

6. Pay off the bank loan used to buy the car (this will be paid by December 2011)

7. Pay back bank of Mum & Dad

8. Keep track of mortgage when fixed rate deal ends (July 2011)


SAVING MONEY GOALS

9. Carry on with the MSE downshift challenge (shifting down a level on groceries to make savings)

10. Collect Nectar points and complete online survey’s to earn vouchers to spend on Amazon

11. Don't empty the big bottle of change

12. Save £2 coins in the Terramundi jar

13. Buy pack lunches to save on impulse buys in Tesco

14. Drink tap water

15. Don’t buy trashy magazines

16. Don't buy face creams, lotions and potions I don't need

17. Play the computer games I already own

18. Read the books I’ve already bought

19. Trim my own fringe and colour my own hair

 20. Repair, Reuse, Recycle


FOODIE GOALS

21. Make a cheesecake

22. Bake cupcakes for friends

23. Bake a cake for someone’s birthday

24. Make a lemon drizzle cake

25. Try stilton cheese

26. Bake pancakes for pudding

27. Make a bread and butter pudding

28. Make a loaf of bread from scratch

29. Keep a record of the bakes that work (recipes with photos). Maybe something to keep on this Blog.

30. Make banana smoothies

31. Eat fish and chips at the seaside

32. Go for a curry with friends

33. Have a Devon cream tea

34. Learn to decorate a cake with icing set - tried this and I am rubbish with getting the consistency of icing right


WORK GOALS

35. Take on new clients

36. Meet at least 90% of my ongoing targets

37. January 2011 – create a PDP for my ongoing learning (done 01/01/11)

38. Do my 15 hours verifiable learning

39. Buy 5 new uniforms

40. Stress less!!

WISH LIST (one day I hope to own)

41. Trollbeads - fantasy fairy necklace

42. Labradorite bead

43. Silver snow

44. An iPad 2 for Aran

45. A new duvet set

46. A big squashy leather office chair like Aran’s

47. Towel set

48. New blinds for the kitchen


FUN STUFF TO DO

49. Go on a big wheel

50. Have a ride in a hot air balloon (ideally taking Mum as I know she would love to do this)

51. Go on a boat or ferry

51.Visit at least one local attraction I would normally overlook

52. Paddle at the beach
53. Complete a Logic Puzzle book

54. Free a helium balloon

55. Go to a 'pick your own'

56. Have a Star Wars movie day and watch them in order back to back

57. Likewise have an 80's John Hughes filmathon

58. Go to an antiques auction


HOBBIES

59. Knit a scarf

60. Complete one of the unfinished cross stitches I have had in the cupboard for years

61. Make bead jewellery kit (again have a few sat in a cupboard already)

62. Read the paperback books I already own – donate them to charity or Mum after

63. Finish one computer game

64. Make a herb pot for the garden

65. Update my blog
66. Use the DSLR camera and take some good photo’s of the Obester

69. Complete a colouring book

PERSONAL

73. Love Obi Bengal as much as I can – after all we only have pets for a fraction of our lives

74. Take Obi for his annual MOT (vaccinations and dental check)

75. Be good to my friends

76. See my parents

77. Tell my friends and family I love them

78. Hug every day

79. Have a lunch date with my Mum

80. Do 5 random acts of kindness

81. Baby of cat sit for a friend

82. Do a good deed for a stranger

83. Treat Aran on his birthday

84. Have a bed day (don't get dressed, order pizza, watch films)

HEALTH

85. Stretch every day

86. Keep attending Pilates class

87. Improve my posture

88. Have an alcohol free month

89. Eat as healthy as possible

90. Keep sweets as a treat

91. Stop snacking between meals

92. Floss

93. Moisturise and use sunscreen

94. Go for smear test
95. Get eyes tested

96. Take a multivitamin in the winter (when I don't eat as much fresh produce)

97. Have a massage

98. Laugh often

THINGS NOT TO DO

99. Don’t use Social Networks for a week (Facebook and Twitter)

100. Don’t swear for a fortnight

101. Don't complain for a week

102. Don't dye my hair red again - it does not work!

103. Don't buy iTunes

104. Buy no sweets for 2 weeks

I’m sure there will be plenty more to add to this list and some goals will change (what seems important as a goal now might not matter another day). Hoping to update this soon
